Paying with Card
CHI Tickets supports secure card payments so you can complete your purchase quickly. This article explains how card payments work and what to expect during the payment step.
How to Pay with a Card
- On the payment step, select the card option. CHI Tickets accepts Visa, Mastercard, and other major card networks.
- Enter your card number, expiry date, and CVC.
- If your billing address is requested, fill in the required fields.
- Tap Pay to submit your payment.
- Your bank may prompt you to complete 3D Secure verification (see below).
- Once the payment is approved, you are taken to the confirmation page.
All card details are entered into a secure payment form provided by our payment orchestration layer, the PCI-compliant payment gateway that processes transactions for CHI Tickets. Your card information is transmitted directly to the payment processor and is never stored on CHI servers.
3D Secure Verification
For card payments, your bank may require an additional authentication step known as 3D Secure (also called Verified by Visa, Mastercard SecureCode, or similar names). When this is triggered:
- A pop-up or redirect appears from your bank asking you to verify the transaction.
- You may be asked to enter a one-time code sent via SMS, approve the transaction in your banking app, or use biometric verification.
- Once verified, the payment completes and you are taken to the confirmation page.
3D Secure is a security measure required by many banks and card issuers, particularly in Europe under the PSD2 Strong Customer Authentication regulation. It helps protect you against unauthorized use of your card.
Security and PCI Compliance
All payments on CHI Tickets are processed through our payment orchestration layer, a PCI DSS-compliant payment gateway. This means:
- Your payment details are encrypted during transmission.
- Card numbers are handled exclusively by the payment processor, not by CHI.
- The payment form meets the highest industry standards for data security.
- Sensitive card data is never logged or stored on CHI infrastructure.
Payment Failures
If your payment is declined or fails, you will see an error message on the payment screen. Common reasons include:
- Insufficient funds — Check your account balance.
- Card expired — Update your card details or use a different card.
- 3D Secure failed — Try again and complete the verification step.
- Bank restriction — Some banks block online transactions by default. Contact your bank to authorize the payment.
You can retry the payment immediately by correcting the issue and tapping Pay again. Your ticket selections are preserved during a retry.
Tip: If you continue to experience payment issues, try a different card or contact your bank to ensure online transactions are enabled.
