Scanning QR Codes to Pay

At CHI-powered events, you can pay at vendor stalls by scanning a QR code with CHI PWA or CHI App — no cash or physical cards needed.

How to Pay with a QR Code

1. Open CHI PWA or CHI App and go to Wallet.
2. Tap the Scan to Pay button or the QR scanner icon.
3. Point your camera at the vendor's QR code.
4. The payment amount appears on your screen.
5. Confirm the payment with a tap.
6. Validate the transaction by inputting your passcode.
7. You'll see a confirmation screen — show it to the vendor as your receipt.

Payment Sources

When you scan to pay, the amount is deducted from:

• Your event token balance (if the event uses tokens), or
• Your default payment method (card).

The app automatically uses the correct payment source based on the event's configuration.

Transaction Confirmation

After each payment, you'll receive:

• An on-screen confirmation with the amount and vendor name.
• An entry in your Transaction History in the Wallet.
• A push notification if notifications are enabled.

Tip: Keep your screen brightness high for faster QR scanning, especially in dimly lit event areas.

Troubleshooting

• Camera not opening? Grant camera permissions — in your device settings for CHI App, or in your browser settings for CHI PWA.
• QR code not recognized? Make sure the code is a CHI payment code and not a generic QR.
• Payment failed? Check your token balance or card balance and try again.
