Changing the Language on CHI Tickets
CHI Tickets is built to serve a global audience. The platform supports 14 languages, allowing you to browse events, complete checkout, and manage your tickets in the language you are most comfortable with.
Supported Languages
CHI Tickets is available in the following languages:
- English (en)
- Dutch (nl)
- German (de)
- Spanish (es)
- French (fr)
- Italian (it)
- Portuguese (pt)
- Thai (th)
- Indonesian (id)
- Hindi (hi)
- Russian (ru)
- Chinese (zh)
- Japanese (ja)
- Korean (ko)
How Language Is Determined
When you visit CHI Tickets, the platform determines which language to display based on the following:
- URL path — The language code is included in the URL. For example,
tickets.chi.app/en/... displays the site in English, while tickets.chi.app/nl/... displays it in Dutch.
- Browser language — If you visit the site without a language code in the URL, CHI Tickets may detect your browser's preferred language and redirect you to the matching version.
- Default — If your browser language is not among the 14 supported languages, the site defaults to English.
How to Switch Languages
You can change the language at any time while using CHI Tickets:
- Look for the language selector on the page. It is typically located in the header or footer of the site.
- Click or tap the selector to open a list of available languages.
- Choose your preferred language from the list.
- The page reloads in the selected language. The URL updates to reflect the new language code.
Switching languages does not affect your checkout progress. If you are in the middle of a purchase, your ticket selections and entered information are preserved when you change languages.
URL-Based Language Switching
Because the language is encoded in the URL, you can also switch languages manually by editing the URL in your browser's address bar. Replace the two-letter language code in the path with the code for the language you want:
- English:
tickets.chi.app/en/event/...
- Spanish:
tickets.chi.app/es/event/...
- Japanese:
tickets.chi.app/ja/event/...
This is particularly useful if you want to share an event link with someone in a specific language. Simply change the language code in the URL before sharing.
What Gets Translated
When you switch languages, the following elements of the CHI Tickets interface are translated:
- Navigation and buttons — All interface labels, menu items, and action buttons.
- Checkout steps — Step names, form labels, instructions, and validation messages.
- Error messages — Any warnings or errors displayed during the checkout process.
- System text — Badges like "Sold Out," warnings like "Only X left!," and other platform-generated text.
What Does Not Get Translated
Some content on the site is provided by the event organizer and is not automatically translated by the platform:
- Event name and description — These are written by the organizer and appear as entered. Some organizers provide descriptions in multiple languages, but this is not guaranteed.
- Ticket type names — Names like "General Admission" or "VIP" are set by the organizer.
- Add-on names and descriptions — Set by the organizer in their chosen language.
- Custom questions — Questions configured by the organizer appear as written.
If the event content is not available in your language, the interface elements (buttons, labels, navigation) will still be translated, but the organizer-provided text will remain in its original language.
Tips for a Smooth Experience
- Bookmark the URL in your preferred language. This ensures you always start browsing in the right language.
- Share language-specific links. When sharing an event with friends, include the language code that matches their preference.
- Check the event description language. If an event description is in a language you do not understand, look for a language toggle provided by the organizer on the event page, or use your browser's built-in translation feature.
Note: The 14 supported languages cover the platform interface. Event content translations depend on the organizer.
